    Après at Araxi

Après ski is BIG in this town and there are myriad options for the après connoisseur. From dive bar booths, to places you can drink a pint while doing an Irish jig , to quintessential Whistler haunts, where standing on tables with a champagne gun is just another day at the office, to mellow corners of sophistication, where the focus is not only on the drink, but also the food.⁣⁣Enter Araxi, one of the classiest joints in town.⁣⁣Renowned for its culinary chops, Araxi is a sexy spot where you can slide in from 3-5pm and have mind-blowing après fondue and oysters, both on special.⁣⁣Their oysters are typically a local offering, from nearby ocean inlets, and super affordable: $18 for 10 ! ⁣⁣Did I mention their incredible cocktails? My personal favorites: the Trophy Wife and their homage to @empress :Lucy in the Sky. Perfection. ⁣⁣Araxi also dishes up truffle popcorn at the bar, which is the perfect compliment to their Firecracker Margarita. Just sayin.⁣⁣I’ll meet you there! ✌⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣[Pictured: my very own trophy wife and some Kusshi oysters with horseradish and champagne mignonette.]⁣

    Tube Park Fun

I spent the afternoon yesterday at the Whistler Blackcomb Tube Park with our sweet little Juniper (4 1/2). It’s the first winter she’s old enough and big enough to go down the tube runs. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣We started on the blue runs and she quickly decided it wasn’t steep or fast enough, so we moved onto the black diamond ♢ runs. She is a fearless pistol! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Her stoke level: ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣If you haven’t been to the Whistler Blackcomb Tube Park, you gotta check it out. It’s open every day from 11-6 (weather dependent). All you need to do is show up, buy a ticket and the rest is pretty much done for you. Tubes pumped and ready. A moving carpet to take you to the top of the pitch, 1000 feet up the hill. Just don’t forget to bring your cajones. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣For more: Coca Cola Tube Park

Whistler Pride & Engel & Völkers

Happy Whistler Pride ya’ll! ️‍⛷☃️I would like to welcome all of my brothers and sisters in town for the Whistler Pride & Ski Festival! Did you know that Engel & Völkers is a champion for LGBTQ rights? Over the years, Engel & Völkers North America has partnered with the NAGLREP—National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals—to advocate for the housing and real estate rights of our community. “The LGBT community is a powerful force achieving social and legislative milestones because of organizations such as NAGLREP,” said Engel & Völkers CEO, Anthony Hitt, who is also part of our community. “We’ve been a proud supporter of NAGLREP for quite some time, along with many licensed partners and advisors. This year and beyond, we look forward to strategically working with the NAGLREP network and its leader, Jeff Berger, to help create confidence and solutions to evolve our industry and the communities in which we serve.”Pretty awesome, eh? If you’re not familiar with NAGLREP, you can check it out here: https://naglrep.com
